SMARTBEAM HEADLAMPS Intelligent headlamp system that adjusts to ambient light and oncoming traffic to deliver maximum lighting
Cargo lamp Cargo lamp is a lamp that is mounted on a multipurpose passenger vehicle, truck, or bus for the purpose of providing illumination to load or unload cargo.
AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP SYSTEM The Automatic Headlamp system turns the instrumentation and exterior illumination lamps ON when the ambient light levels are Night and the engine RPM is 450 or above, and OFF when light levels are Day.
DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS Operating the high-beam headlamps at reduced power provides daytime running lamps, which are required on all new Canadian vehicles. Daytime running lamps are functional when 450 rpm’s are reached.
Sealed-beam Headlamp Unit A headlamp unit whose components, comprising a reflector system, a lens system and one or more electrical light sources, are all parts of an integral whole which has been sealed in the course of manufacture and which can not be dismantled without rendering the unit completely unusable.
Halogen Sealed-beam Headlamp Unit A headlamp whose components, including a reflector of glass, metal or other material, an optical system and one or more halogen light sources, form an integral whole which is indivisibly joined and cannot be dismantled without rendering the unit completely unusable.
Asymmetrical-beam Headlamp Unit A headlamp emitting an asymmetrical beam, which may incorporate lenses of glass or plastic material and which is equipped with replaceable filament lamp.
Symmetrical-beam Headlamp Unit A headlamp emitting an symmetrical beam, which may incorporate lenses of glass or plastic material and which is equipped with replaceable filament lamp.
Courtesy Lamp Lamp assembly, such as C-pillar, roof rail, and floor console, provides auxiliary light to remote areas of the vehicle.
Dome Lamp Lamp assembly, which is secured to the headliner, header, or roof bow, illuminates the vehicle interior.
Door Lamp Lamp assembly, which is secured to the door trim assembly, provides illumination to aid vehicle ingress/egress.
Interior Lamp Lamp assembly, which provides illumination to the vehicle's interior.
LED Light Emitting Diode
Liftgate Lamp Lamp assembly, which is secured to liftgate trim, illuminates the cargo area and ground.
Reading Lamp Lamp assembly illuminates a specified field (target area) when activated by a switch.
Underpanel Lamp Lamp assembly, which is secured to the bottom of the instrument panel, illuminates the foot wells.
Front Fog Lamps Lamps used for short distance forward illumination below the head lamp low beam pattern and with wide angular light dispersement for edge of the road visibility.
Off Road Lamps Used for forward illumination of very dark off road conditions.
Low Beam Beam intended to illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle when meeting or closely following another vehicle.
High Beam Beam intended primarily for distance illumination and for use when not meeting or closely following another vehicle.
VOL Headlamps Marked with the letters “VOL” on the lens are designed to be visually/optically aimable using the horizontal cutoff line on the left side of the lower beam pattern.
VOR Headlamps Marked with the letters “VOR” on the lens are designed to be visually/optically aimable using the horizontal cutoff line on the right side of the lower beam pattern.
VO Headlamps Marked with the letters “VO” on the lens are solely high beam headlamps that are intended to be visually/optically aimed using the upper beam.
